Reunification

The Reunification Monument

The Reunification Monument

My work, let’s call it ‘company 1984’ has about 20 departments, and about 4,000 staff. Each department has it’s own HR unit, this has worked well for countless years. However today we were advised that the HR function was to undergo reunification.
In short, although we were assured it wasn’t a ‘slash and burn’ exercise, HR staff numbers were to reduce.  This isn’t about saving money we were told, it’s about providing quality HR service to the departments, and putting service level agreements in place.
Type reunification into google and it tells you about a post-war Germany. So looking at my ‘work’ where will the Berlin wall stand?
